Dave taught at Silpakorn University in Bangkok for two years.
He married a Thai and after Peace Corps got a grant from the East
West Center at the University of Hawaii where he got his MFA degree
in directing.
The University buiilt a new theater and Dave was hired to run it.
During the next 15 years he got his masters degree and ran the theater
at the same time.
Along the way he got divorced.
He was working a lot of hours and the cost of living in Hawaii was
prohibitive so when a job opened up at Virginia Tech in 1988 in
the Theater Arts Department left Hawaii and headed for the mainland.
Today he is remarried and is an
associate professor at Virginia Tech's school of the arts.
