Bob Drexler recieved his Ph.D from the University of Chicago in 1973. Currently he is the William P. and Gayle S. Whipple Professor of English at Coe College.. He is also advisor for their Coe/Chiang Mai University Student Exchange Program and the Coe/Nagoya-Gakuin University Exchange Program

Bob Drexler received his BA from Amherst College, his MA from the University of Iowa Writers Workshop, and his Ph.D. from the University of Iowa. His books include My Father Becomes the Wind (Coe Review Press, 1995) and Suvannaphoum (Chaingmai University, 2003). Suvannaphoum, the focus of his reading at CSPS, is a poem cycle inspired by his experiences in Thailand.
